CREEMORE CLASSIC CAR SHOW

Toronto Section visited the 3rd annual classic car show on July 15 2017. Although it was a 2 hour drive to the Town of Creemore just off Airport Road, the time was made up for beautiful weather and spectacular scenery. The winding 2 lane highway is a favourite for speeders going to the cottage but due to the number of accidents and subsequent deaths the Provincial Police are always waiting at the top of a hill or in one of the many small towns along the way.

John Geist and Doug Dees brought their 1965 230SL Pagoda and 1969 280SE coupe respectively and secured a good spot on Mill Street in the shade. A visit to the Creemore wouldn’t be complete without sampling the free beer available in several samples for the public. A public tour is also available. Other members showed up including Roland Wilhelm in his silver 1961 190SL. The gates opened at 7a.m. and if the Mercedes owners didn’t arrive together they would be scattered across the town or at the edges. We will try to co-ordinate the arrivals better next year.
