… Well, at least, German engineered automobiles; the distinctive Mercedes Benz!
The Mercedes Benz Club of America is holding its Spring National Board of Directors meeting in Canandaigua NY from May 14th through May 17th this spring. The club consists of over 20,000 members throughout the US and Canada. The location for these semi-annual board meetings are determined through bids by the one or more of the 86 sections, or clubs, organized into 12 regions. The Finger Lakes Section bid about two years ago, and was awarded the Spring 2008 meeting. The last two National Board Meetings were held in Phoenix Arizona and Naples Florida.
While the purpose of the meeting is to address the considerable business at hand, the Finger Lakes Section, in cooperation with local tourism and business organizations, has planned a plethora of activities to engage significant others as well as impressive after-meeting festivities, which include a cruise on the Canandaigua Lady, a reception at the New York Wine and Culinary center and a closing banquet at Bella Lago.
Over 60 attendees have registered, including the 19 Board members, Staff from the national business office in Colorado Springs, representatives and guests from the auto manufacturer, and members and officers from clubs throughout the US.
Many of the attendees are driving to Canandaigua and a display of their unique Mercedes automobiles, open to the general public, will be held Saturday, May 17th on the grounds of the host hotel, The Inn on the Lake.
Details of the event and the organizations involved may be found on the web at flmbca.org, mbca.org, and mbusa.com.
